Clarkson University Student Coleman Larlee of Albany Named to Yankee Collegiate Club Football All Conference Team

2013 Mar 29

Coleman Larlee of Albany, N.Y., a senior majoring in chemical engineering at Clarkson University, was recently named to the 2012 Academic All-Conference Team in the Yankee Collegiate Football Conference.

Students chosen for the 2012 All-Conference Team excelled during the season in conference; the league consists of club football teams from over eight schools in the northeast. Students named to the Academic All-Conference Team maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher during the college football season.

"I am very proud of the accomplishments that these young men have achieved this past season," said Clarkson University football club head coach Mike Britton, "More important to me is the victories and successes that they find off the field that will carry over in their future endeavors."

The Clarkson team started two years ago and has since grown to over 50 members, according to senior mechanical engineering major Andrew Dorr, one of its co-founders and co-captains. The club finished its 2010 season with a 1win-5 loss record, and then improved to 3-3 in 2011 and 4-3 in 2012.

Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in five alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world's pressing issues. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and health sciences, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
