Clarkson University Student Katherine Beglinger of Varysburg, N.Y., Recognized for Science Presentation

2014 Jun 30

Clarkson University student Katherine M. Beglinger of Varysburg, N.Y., was recently honored at a research conference sponsored by the Northern New York Local Section of the American Chemical Society.

Beglinger, a graduate majoring in biomolecular science and chemistry, was awarded first place in research with Clarkson University Professor Costel C. Darie. The research focused on the protein profiles in bodily fluids to identify biomarkers that correlate with autism.

“Katie is currently at a 7,000-participant meeting -- only one of about 30 undergrads in the world attending,” Darie said. “That’s quite an accomplishment.”
