Daniel J. Horn of North Syracuse, N.Y., a senior at Clarkson University majoring in chemical engineering, received the following award(s) at the University Recognition Day ceremony during the spring semester:

CUSA Outstanding Senator Award: Created in 1992, this award is given to the student senator who shows exemplary performance in carrying out senatorial duties. This award is designed to promote individual excellence in service to the Senate, including creating a more efficient Student Senate. An award of $100 is presented to this senator.

Phalanx Inductee:Phalanx is Clarkson’s highest recognized honorary leadership society. It consists of a group of selected members of the Clarkson community who have demonstrated leadership skills and active participation in campus activities, along with above-average academic abilities, outstanding character and high morals. Phalanx inducts new members during University Recognition Day.

The Commendable Leadership Award for Seniors:This award is presented to juniors, seniors, graduate students, faculty, staff and administration members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and quality participation in organizations associated with Clarkson and the Potsdam community. The award recipients exhibit exceptional leadership qualities and the versatility to balance all aspects of college life. New Phalanx members are selected from the group of Commendable Leadership Award recipients.
