Valerie Deane of Rochester Graduates from Clarkson University Honors Program

As part of Clarkson University's May 11 commencement ceremony, 23 students graduated with an honors degree from the University Honors Program.

Valerie Deane of Rochester, N.Y. , a computer science major was among the students receiving this honor. Deane graduated with great distinction and completed an honors thesis titled Browser cookies and online privacy. After Clarkson, Valerie will begin a career with Assured Information Security in Rome, N.Y.

Clarkson's Honors Program is an intensive four-year curriculum built upon current and emerging problems in science, technology and society. The University admits a maximum of 40 new students to the Honors Program each year. All graduating students must complete an Honors Thesis, which is an original research or scholarship of publishable quality, and the service requirement.
