Xiaojun Huang of Burlington Receives Award From Clarkson University

Xiaojun Huang of Burlington, Vt., a senior at Clarkson University majoring in biomolecular science , received the following award(s) at the University Recognition Day ceremony during the spring semester:

The Professional and Administrative Staff Award: Established by Clarkson University Professional & Administrative Staff, this award is presented annually to a sophomore or junior who possesses the qualities of professional maturity, scholastic ability, extracurricular activities, and community leadership.

The Diversity Initiatives Award: An award to students in recognition of their commitment to diversity awareness and demonstrated by outstanding leadership and academic achievement.

The Phalanx Commendable Leadership Award for Juniors: This award is presented to juniors, seniors, graduate students, faculty, staff and administration members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and quality participation in organizations associated with Clarkson and the Potsdam community. The award recipients exhibit exceptional leadership qualities and the versatility to balance all aspects of college life. New Phalanx members are selected from the group of Commendable Leadership Award recipients.

Induction into Phalanx: Phalanx is Clarkson’s highest recognized honorary leadership society. It consists of a group of selected members of the Clarkson community who have demonstrated leadership skills and active participation in campus activities, along with above-average academic abilities, outstanding character and high morals. Phalanx was established in 1929, and each spring inducts new members into Phalanx during University Recognition Day.
