Xulan Deng of College Point, N.Y., a junior at Clarkson University majoring in biomolecular science, received the following award(s) during the spring semester:

Egon Matijevic? Endowed Chemistry Scholarship: This award was established in 1988 in honor of Dr. Egon Matijevic?, Clarkson's Distinguished University Professor, for his enormous contribution to the scientific community around the globe and for his exemplary service to the Department of Chemistry, the Center for Advanced Materials Processing, and the entire University. The award recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student majoring in chemistry.

Elinor N. Mcgill Memorial Award: Created by the Clarkson Student Association Senate in memory of Professor Robert John McGill's wife, who died in June 1966. This award is presented annually to a sophomore in recognition of outstanding contributions to extracurricular activities coupled with above-average academic performance.

The Gamma Sigma Epsilon George L. Jones Jr. Award: This award is sponsored and by the chemical fraternity Gamma Sigma Epsilon and presented to an outstanding sophomore chemistry major.
