Yijia Zhao of Jinan Graduates from Clarkson University Honors Program

As part of Clarkson University's May 11 commencement ceremony, 23 students graduated with an honors degree from the University Honors Program.

Yijia Zhao of Jinan, China, a environmental engineering major was among the students receiving this honor. Zhao graduated with distinction and completed an honors thesis titled Physical characteristics of particle emission from multiple cooking stoves. Yijia completed her degree at Clarkson in December 2012 and is now attending Carnegie Mellon University where she is pursuing a PhD in environmental engineering.

Clarkson's Honors Program is an intensive four-year curriculum built upon current and emerging problems in science, technology and society. The University admits a maximum of 40 new students to the Honors Program each year. All graduating students must complete an Honors Thesis, which is an original research or scholarship of publishable quality, and the service requirement.
