Georgia Keresty Elected Clarkson University Trustee

Potsdam, NY (06/05/2018) — Clarkson University alumna Georgia Keresty '83 of Palm Coast, FL., has been elected to the University's board of trustees. She will serve on the Audit and Internal Affairs committees.

Keresty, Ph.D., MPH, has been the Global Head of Medical Sciences & Development Operations at Takeda Pharmaceuticals R&D since 2017. She oversees the enabling scientific and medical functions in R&D including Global Regulatory Affairs; Patient Safety and Evaluation; Development and Clinical Operations; Global Medical Affairs and Marketed Products R&D. She is also responsible for three development centers in Osaka, London, and Shanghai.

From 1997 to 2017, she had a long and distinguished career at Johnson & Johnson, most recently serving as the VP and Global Head of Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing Sciences where she led a global organization of engineers and scientists to deliver the products in the Janssen R&D pipeline to the market through the leadership of the end-to-end chemistry, manufacturing and control aspects of R&D. Keresty spent more than 23 years in the healthcare industry in worldwide assignments in quality, operations, EHS (environment, health, and safety), manufacturing, and engineering. She has also worked at Bristol Myers Squibb and Novartis.

Georgia has a diverse educational background; starting with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson in 1983. She went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 1985, a master of science degree in information systems from Pace University in 1988, an MBA from Rutgers University in 1992, a Ph.D. in operations management from Rutgers in 1998, and an MPH from the University of Southern California in 2016.

Keresty was first elected to the Clarkson University board of trustees in 2007 and served on the Research Committee and as vice chair of the Audit Committee. She also served on the Clarkson Alumni Council as a member-at-large for many years, and in 1988 received the Woodstock Award from the University to recognize her demonstrated personal achievements and outstanding loyalty and service. She served as chair of her 10th- and 20th- year class reunions at Clarkson.

Keresty has also served on the board of trustees for the New Jersey Foundation for Aging where she was the board secretary and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Commissioning Agents, Inc. She and her husband George Clayton, reside in Florida.
